Diego Voccia

Diego Voccia obtained his Master’s degrees in Chemistry at the University of Florence in 2010. He then pursued his doctoral studies in the same institution, focusing on designing biosensors for various applications. He is currently a PostDoc at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, where he works on the valorization of by-products and co-products from agriculture, farming and aquaculture, through the development of bio-refineries and innovative extraction processes for the production of chemical compounds and materials of interest for non-food and non-feed industry sectors. He also conducts research on food and environmental safety, using chemical extraction and analysis techniques to detect pesticides and other contaminants in different samples. He is involved in the improvement of the EPRIP indicator, a tool for assessing the environmental performance of agricultural systems, which was previously created by his research group.
